Abstract
983, 974. Sewing machines. DURKOPPWERKE A.G. Feb. 10,1964 [Feb. 21, 1963], No. 5402/64. Heading D1G. In a chain stitch sewing machine, a pivoted looper having respective loop-taking and return needle-avoiding movements is formed with a longitudinal groove or recess, and the tip of a stationery finger engages in said groove or recess during the return movement. The beak of the pivoted looptaker 4 is formed in a side face with a longitudinal groove 9, and on its lower edge with a notch 14 having end shoulders 15, 16. During the loop-taking stroke the needle loop taken by the beak engages the shoulder 16. During the return stroke, on the other side of the needle 3, the tip 8 of a finger 7 enters the groove 9, and the base of a thread triangle 17 through which the needle descends is thereby stretched between the tip 8 and the shoulder 15. Finger 7 is adjustably secured under the work plate 1 by screws 10, and the height of the tip 8 is adjustable by means of a screw 12.
