Abstract

760,669. Centrifugal separators. FARR CO. Dec. 14, 1954. No. 36187/54. Class 23 [Also in Group XXVII] A dust separator comprises a tubular body C, a baffle E at the inlet end of the body, swirl producing vanes 60 located between the baffle and the body, and an air outlet tube D protruding into the outlet end of the body. A pad 65 of soft material such as rubber, cork or felt is provided within the baffle to deaden the sound of the air flowing through the separator. A series of the separators span a chamber X from which dust discharged from the outlets 31 of the separators, is removed in an air current through a bleed pipe.
