Abstract
760,472. Knitting-machines. MORETTA, G. Sept. 16, 1952 [Oct. 2, 1951; Feb. 23, 1952], No. 23257/52. Class 74 (2). Patterning mechanism for effecting selection of the needles of a circular machine comprises a series of selector bits 40 operative on the butts of jacks 14 and moved out of operation by levers 86. The levers are caused to pivot to move the bits 40 into an inoperative position when arms 62 mounted in guides are raised by lugs on a series of pattern chains 65 to cause cam formations 60 on the arms 62 to move rods 54, engaging the levers 86, longitudinally. The bits are held in an operative position for making a selection, by springs 41. A drum 82, which has a step-by-step rotation, operates mechanism 75 ... 78 by a cam 80 fixed to its surface to cause rod 75 to engage all of the levers 86 and move them simultaneously such that the selector bits are all rendered inoperative.
