759,483. Foldable masts. UDDEVALLAVARVET AKTIEBOLAG. Dec. 2, 1952 [March 11, 1952], No. 30578/52. Class 115. In a mast comprising an upper mast 1 and a stationary lower mast 2 foldably connected together by a hinging device, the upper mast 1 is at its lower end provided with quadrant-like levers 3 for the purpose of transmitting braking power when folding and hauling power when raising the upper mast, the levers being shaped so that when folding or raising the upper mast the load in the wire 18 transmitting power to the levers is constant. Between the foldable upper mast 1 and the stationary lower mast 2 there is provided a gas-tight packing so that when the mast is in its raised position it may be used as a ventilation duct.
