Abstract

758,055. Thread guiding rollers. VEREINIGTE GLANZSTOFF-FABRIKEN AKT.- GES. May 25,1954, No. 15412/54. Class 120 (2). A thread guiding roller comprises a member or members supporting two rows of thread guiding elements having curvilinear thread guiding surfaces each element in one row extending into the space between adjacent elements in the other row so that the thread bears alternately on the elements in each row and thus follows-an undulatory path over the roller. As shown, the roller consists of two facing discs 1 and 2 each having near its outer edge a groove or channel in which balls 5 and 6 are arranged so that they interengage. The disc 1 is fixed to a shaft 3 by a screw 4 and the disc 2 is urged against the disc 1 by a nut 7. Instead of balls hemispherical impressions may be made in the two discs. In a further embodiment hemispherical elements are formed in staggered relationship on the peripheral surface of a cylindrical roller.
