[Also in Group XVIII] The method of protecting the interior surfaces of oil tanks according to the parent Specification comprising applying to the surfaces at least two thin layers of a mixture of hydraulic cement and an aqueous synthetic resin emulsion, the layers having a tough woven fabric sandwiched between them, is applied to the protection of the surfaces of metals generally and especially to the protection of the exterior surfaces of ships' hulls. Moreover, the aqueous synthetic resin emulsion may be replaced by natural rubber latex.
