A suction cleaner comprises a chamber 3 formed within the housing and having aligned openings 1, 8 surrounded by a filter 7. The opening 8 is normally closed by a cap 9 and air discharges through a slit 4 which is cut off when a blower hose is inserted in the openings 1, 8.
