756,512. Supporting cables. BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDERS' CABLES, Ltd. Aug. 2, 1955 [Aug. 3, 1954], No. 22549/54. Addition to 731,481. Class 36. The cable support disclosed in the parent Specification is modified by forming the insulation in two parts 1, 2 which are drawn together by a fixing nail or screw 12 to clamp between them a tongue or tongues 18 projecting from the clip 14, the base 1 having a recess 3 in which the upper part 2 lies, the tongues 18 being clamped between inwardly tapered surfaces of the two parts, and the part 2 having a stepped hole 11 providing a seating for the head of the fixing screw. The part 2 may be of semi-rigid material which is deformed on tightening screw 12 to clamp the tongues 18. Alternatively, the clamping surfaces of the two parts may be complementarily shaped and may be of conical, hemispherical or semi-cylindrical form. The tongues 18 may be formed by slitting and then pressing the clip 14, or the clip may be formed with a sleeve or hollow boss corresponding in shape to the recess 3.
