Abstract

The point of a hypodermic needle is formed by imposing a bevel on a hollow shaft of uniform wall thickness and of symmetrical, non-circular cross-section. Preferably the tip is formed at the intersection of two contiguous longitudinal faces and thus the cross-section may be square, diamond-shaped or triangular but, if desired, it may be elliptical. The shank of the needle, behind the tip, may be circular or elliptical or it may be a continuation of the cross-section of the tip.
