Abstract

749,579. Sectional buildings. KERMODE, S. Aug. 14, 1953 [Aug. 13, 1952], No. 20332/52. Class 20(1). In a building, e.g. a school, in which the walls are constructed of separate sections 11 with vertical joints or spaces between any two sections, a buttress wall 12 is provided at the joints or spaces at right angles to the sections 11. The buttresses 12 are arranged internally of the outer walls of the building and may support roof trusses. Wall and buttress sections 11, 12 comprise plywood or hardboard panelling 18, 13 on a timber framing 11, 14 respectively. Nuts and bolts 22 join adjacent sections, and the wall sections 11 may have door or window openings, e.g. as at 24, lined with wood strips 27 and receiving metal frames 25. The external face of each joint is covered with panelling. Specification 749,580 is referred to.
