747,838. Foot protecting pads. SCHOLL MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd. (Scholl Manufacturing Co., Inc.). Jan. 7, 1954 [Oct. 30, 1953], No. 30080/53. Class 81(2). A pad for use under the plantar surface of the foot comprises a cushioning pad with an integral coplanar loop through which a toe may be thrust. The pad is preferably made from a sheet of cellular rubber in an oval shape with a protruding loop 12. If desired, the surface may be slightly channelled at 24 to improve the comfort of the device in use. The sponge rubber may be faced with soft cotton fabric or a sheet of impervious rubber on one or both sides and additional soft cushioning pads may be incorporated in the upper face of the appliance if required.
