Abstract
747,645. Road-trade signals on vehicles. DAIMLER-BENZ AKT.-GES. Nov. 12, 1953 [Feb. 25, 1953], No. 31396/53. Drawings to Specification. Class 118(2) A motor vehicle lighting installation comprises in combination with the normal head lights and/or side lights of the vehicle an automatic flashing device and a switch mounted on the steering column so that it can be operated at will by the driver, the said switch being connected between the flashing device and the said lights so that the latter can be caused to give a periodically flashing light signal, particularly as an overtaking signal. The flashing device and associated switch are connected effectively in parallel with the normal lighting switches such that if the head lights are switched off they will be flashed upon operation of the said switch and if the head lights are in the dimmed condition they will be intermittently flashed between dimmed condition and full head lights. If the head lights are already switched full on there is no effect if the special switch is operated.
