Abstract
746,761. Printing colour photographic films. DEBRIE, A. V. L. C. Feb. 10, 1953 [March 25, 1952], No. 3773/53. Class 98 (2). An illuminating apparatus for use in a colour film printer comprises a lamp 2 with reflecting mirror 3 to project a beam of light through three filters with parallel opaque and transparent elements or three neutral grey filters, 4a, 4b, 4c of constant rectangular area, which filters are chosen for each scene of the film to be printed by a preliminary trial and error experiment as described in Specification 721,547, and then through three colour filters 7a, 7b, 7c and cylindrical lenses 8a, 8b, 8c to converge the beam at the printing area 15 on to the image film 12 and sensitive film 13. In use the grey filters 4 may be accommodated in pockets 5 of a mask-band 6 as described in Specification 693,328, whereby quick change of filters scene by scene may be effected. Coloured lenses 8a, 8b, 8c may be used with discard of the colour filters 7a, 7b, 7c.
