Abstract
746,667. Coated fabrics. HARKNESS, Ltd., A. S. Feb. 11, 1954 [Feb. 20, 1953], No. 4790/53. Class 140. [Also in Group XX] A projection screen having a wrinkled surface is produced by coating a sheet base of a plastic material such as polyvinyl chloride with an elastic paint containing a solvent capable of temporarily softening the sheet base, the coating being effected while the sheet base is maintained under tension and the tension being released following drying of the paint. One or more coats may be applied. After drying, the screen may be again painted under tension, the tension being partially or completely released while the paint is still wet. The paint may contain chlorinated rubber or a vinyl copolymer and aluminium powder or paste. The sheet base is preferably strained more strongly in the direction of the width of the screen. The screen may be made up of a plurality of strips of sheet base with seams running parallel to the height of the screen. Specification 598,286, [Group XX], is referred to.
