Abstract
746,456. Dynamo-electric machines. FINDLAY, J. M. Aug. 9, 1954 [Aug. 18, 1953], No. 23063/54. Class 35. Converting electric energy into motion of fluids by the action of magnetic fields.-An electromagnetic interaction pump comprises a liquid duct 20 having an arcuate loop between two opposed magnets 23, 24 and also between two conducting members 21, 22 which are soldered to opposite surfaces of the duct. Rotation of the magnets by means of a shaft 32 causes movement of the liquid by means of eddy-currents whose path is completed through the conductors 21, 22. Permanent or electromagnets may be used. An alternative form is described in which the magnetic members are disposed radially of the duct while the conducting members are secured on its axial faces.
