Abstract

746,227. Automatic guns. SOC. D'EXPLOITATION DES MATERIELS HISPANO SUIZA. Jan. 26, 1954 [Jan. 28, 1953], No. 2383/54. Class 92 In an automatic gun, an ejector 5, Fig. 2, is slidably mounted in the breech block 1 and is moved forwardly relative to the breech block during recoil by striking with its rear end 6 a weight 7 pivotally mounted in the breech case 2. The arrangement of the parts is such that a substantial pivoting of the weight 7 is produced immediately it is struck by the rear end 6 of the ejector. The weight 7 pivots upwardly out of the path of the breech block and is subsequently returned by the action of a weak spring 9. The ejector 5 is normally urged within the breech block against an abutment 10 by a spring 11. In an alternative embodiment Fig. 3 the ejector 5 comprises a bar slidable in a longitudinal groove in the top of the breech block 1. In this case the head of the ejector 5 constitutes at least a portion of the surface by which the breech block, when it is returned forwardly, strikes the base of a cartridge 12 to be introduced into the cartridge chamber.
