Abstract

746,087. Grating &c. food &c. GUILLOUARD, A. & L. Jan. 11, 1954 [Jan. 12, 1953], No. 735/54. Class 28(2). [Also in Group I] Food, &c. placed in a container 1 is swept round over a stationary grating, mashing or slicing bottom plate 10 by a vertical curved wall 3 rotated by a handle 6 about its pivot 5, the food being pressed against the bottom plate 10 by a rotated blade 9 attached to the handle 6 by a crank 7 having guides 4 slidable in bushes 8 on the wall 3 whereby the pressure of the plate 9 on the food against the plate 10 can be varied in accordance with the downward pressure applied to the handle 6. The pressure plate 9 is inclined upwards at 9a to ride over the food and induce it under the plate 9. The pivot 5 is secured in a depression in a diametrical support bar 16 secured to the flange 2 of the container. Fig. 3 (not shown) comprises a solid plate but with radial knives in slots instead of the grating perforations.
