Abstract

722,680. Potato &c. peelers. OERTLI AKT.-GES., T. March 9, 1953 [March 7, 1952; Sept. 29, 1952], No. 6504/53. Class 28 (2). A dry potato &c. peeler comprises a rotated disc 3 co-operating with deflecting and turning- over plates 6, 7 the disc having sharp edged peeling grooves 8 or perforations and being spaced above the bottom 1a of the container, the grooves being so directed that centrifugal force throws out the dry peelings from the grooves so that they are deflected by the plates 6 and 7 down under the disc 3. The peeler unit is designed to be placed on the base of a vegetable cutter and mixer after removal of the known cutters and container Fig. 10, (not shown), the coupling 18 Fig. 9 of the peeler being placed over the disc shaft 16 of the mixer. A reduction gear 19 or a governor is incorporated in the peeler unit. Various forms of cutting grooves perforations or slots in the peeler-disc 3 are shown, and bars 50, Fig. 8 may be formed on the disc surface to give a rotating grip on the potatoes.
