Abstract

745,763. Slitting webs. AMERICAN VISCOSE CORPORATION. Oct. 8, 1953 [Nov. 18, 1952], No. 27671/53. Class 31 (1). [Also in Groups IX and XVI] In an apparatus for rewinding webs (see Group XVI) a web is slit longitudinally into narrow webs by a slitting device 13. The slitting device comprises a plurality of discs 41 around which the web, not shown, passes. A series of knives 42, attached to a pivoted support 44, is held in cutting position, between the discs 41, by a set screw 46 extending through an arm 45 into engagement with a frame 47.
