744,673. Stringed musical instruments. CLEMENT. W. J. Feb. 19. 1954 [Feb. 24, 1953], No. 5191/53. Class 88(2) A detachable shoulder-rest for a violin or similar instrument is provided with an ,arm 14 of which one end is bent over to form a hook 15 for insertion into a slot 9 in a bracket 8 which is anchored at the edge of the instrument by a clamp which may also carry the chin-rest 1. The shoulder-rest may be locked in position by means of a pivoted bar 16, or the hooked end may be split so that a clamping screw can be passed between the two halves, Figs. 5-8 (not shown).
