744,572. Surgical dressings. GELINSKY, E. Dec. 7, 1953, No. 33999/53. Class 81(2). A dressing is formed so as to present differing absorbing properties on its different faces. The desired properties are obtained by the use of a double fabric of which one outer layer consists of non-absorbent material, of which the constituent threads have been treated with therapeutic substance. The other outer layer of the fabric is preferably of absorbent material and such a fabric is used to enclose an absorbent pad. The drawing shows a combination dressing comprising two absorbent pads a, b of differing properties, such as of cotton and fibre, enclosed in covers made from two differing double fabrics so that by folding along the centre line K any of four surfaces may be available, each having different properties from the others.
