Abstract
744,314. Grease guns. NEUMAN, C. J. May 31, 1954 [March 5, 1953 ; May 29, 1953], Nos. 6159/53 and 14986/53. Classes 102(1) and 102(2). In a grease gun, the container 1 is fitted with a follower piston 7 which slides freely on a rod 10 that passes through a cover 25 and has slots 15, 27 which co-operate with spring arms 14, located beneath a washer 24, to retain the rod 10 in its inner or outer positions ; the catch is freed by rotating the rod 10. The piston 7 is loaded by a conical spring 16 and is retracted by the stop 12 on the rod 10. The gun is fitted with a pump piston 18, actuated by a lever 17, and a delivery valve 20. An air bleed may be provided on the container near the cylinder 2 and may be closed by a ball valve which protrudes and may be passed to open it. Specification 714,147 is referred to.
