744,209. Tampon introducers. KURKJIAN, Y. H. Oct. 8, 1953 [Aug. 17, 1953], No. 27741/53. Class 81(2). The plunger of a tubular tampon introducer is so formed as to be able to be fitted around the tampon container during storage and transit. The appliance may be initially arranged with the plunger member 17 partially around the outside of the container tube 15, so that when it is required for use, it is merely necessary to detach the plunger, compress it slightly and insert it within the tube 15. In order to prevent relative movement between the tube and plunger when they are packed in the foregoing manner, it is further proposed to turn the two ends of the plunger inwards so as to fit around the ends of the applicator tube, see Fig. 8 (not shown). With this form the turned in end of the plunger acts as an abutment during ejection of the tampon. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 629,952.
