Abstract
743,035. Draught excluders. ANES, H. June 17, 1954 [Aug. 19, 1953], No. 22820/53. Class 20(3). A draught excluder corn prises a shutter bar 2 which if suspended by links 15, 16 from, and urged by a spring 19 into, a rebate 5 in a case 1 secured to the bottom of a door, or window sash (not shown). The links 15, 16, as shown, are pivoted at their upper and lower ends respectively to the holes 9 in sets of spaced holes 9, 10, 11 in recesses 6, 8 in the case 1, and to the bar 2, the spring 19, connected between two staples 13, 14 situated respectively in a recess 7 in the case 1 and on the bar 2, being accommodated, when the bar 2 is raised, in the recess 7. The bar 2, having a resilient strip 4 along its lower edge, is lowered against the action of the spring 19 when the projecting end of the bar 2 contacts the hinged side of the door, or window, frame as the door, or window, is closed. Short, or long, links 15, 16 can be used according to the size of the gap beneath the door, or window, it is desired to close, short links being connected to the holes 10. The holes 9, 10, 11 are spaced according to the length of' the longer links. To reverse the device the links 15, 16 are connected to the holes 11 and the spring 19 is connected between the staple 14 and a staple 12 in the recess 7.
