Abstract

742,092. Chain gearing., DAIMLERBENZ AKT.-GES. July 14, 1953 [July 14, 1952], No. 19508/53. Class 80(1) A tensioning device for a chain 1 comprises a strip or segment 7 of rubber or like material which is profiled to bear on the rollers only of the chain; a twin roller chain being shown in Fig. 2. The strip or segment 7 is carried by a steel strip 5 pivoted at 6 and acted upon by a spring- loaded shoe 11. A second tensioner 14 may be provided on the opposite run of the chain. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 628,803.
