Abstract

275,508. Taylor, E. March 11, 1927. Driving-gear for endless belt conveyers; tensioning.-In a long endless belt conveyer an endless cable, belt, &c. 8 drives a series of pulleys, &c. 9 provided on some or all of the belt-supporting rollers 1, 2. The cable 8 is kept taut by a number of pulleys 10, each of which can be adjusted by a screw 12, Fig. 2. The cable 8 is passed through a series of guides 17 having movable outer parts which can be swung to expose the cable if required. Additional tensioning means for the cable 8 may be provided by a pulley wheel 8a, Fig. 7, mounted in an adjustable frame 22.
