Abstract
741,270. Ball and float valves. GALLIFANT, L. A. May 28, 1954 [Dec. 4, 1953], No. 33707/53. Class 135. A ball valve for water cisterns comprises a casing portion A having at one end an enlarged bore R terminating inside the casing portion in an annular shoulder C, a flanged seating nipple S fitted loosely in the casing portion A with its flange T bearing against the shoulder C, a float-operated plunger H with a disc I of rubber or like resilient material adapted to co-operate with the end of the nipple S, and a second casing portion B fitted into the bore R to press the nipple against the shoulder C. The casing portions are connected by screw threads and have nut-like portions E, N to facilitate their connection. A sealing washer W is located between the flange T and the casing portion B. The latter is secured to the supply pipe by a standard union nut.
