[Also in Group XIII] A cooking range comprises a fire box with a hot-plate directly above it and extending laterally to form the bottom of an oven, a horizontal flue beneath the hot plate and oven, a boiler mounted in a vertical flue leading from the horizontal flue near its outlet from the firebox, a flue passage at the side of the oven communicating with the vertical flue through a return flue over the top of the oven and a damper controlling the opening of the vertical flue into the horizontal flue. The cylindrical firebox 1 is closed at the top by a cover 2 which forms part of a hot plate 3. A horizontal flue 9 extends from the firebox below an extension of the hot plate 3 forming the bottom of an oven 10, and a vertical flue 12 leads from the horizontal flue hear the firebox. The horizontal flue 9 leads to a flue 17 at the side of the oven and a return flue 18 across the top of the oven leads into the vertical flue 12. Fins 15 are provided in the horizontal flue 9, below which is a grilling oven 11, and ons 32 depend from the hot plate 31 formed above the return flue 18. Secondary air heated in a space 22 between the fire box 1 and the grilling oven 11 and a warming oven 21 below the grilling oven is admitted to the horizontal flue under the control of a damper 23. An air heating chamber 25 may be provided. Air for combustion is admitted to the ash pit 4 through a damper on a removable ash pit door. The bottom of the firebox 1 has a central aperture 8 for burning turf, wood or sawdust, but a grate 28 may be placed in the firebox for burning coal. A boiler 13 is mounted in the vertical flue 12, and the passage of gases round the oven 10 is controlled by a damper 14 at the entry to the vertical flue and a damper 20 at the outlet end of the return flue 18. A further damper 30 is provided in the chimney.
