Abstract
739,369. Watches. PIQUEREZ, E. Feb. 2, 1954 [Feb. 7, 1953], No. 3044/54. Class 139. A fluid-tight watch case comprises a back secured to a case-band by the engagement between each of at least two springs carried by the back or case-band and a radial projection carried by the case-band or back respectively. The back 2, Fig. 1, has an upstanding flange 2a having a shoulder 2c which defines a recess 3 in which are located at diametrically opposite positions two spring members 4 shaped as shown in Fig. 2 and fixed to the shoulder 2c at 4c. The flange 2a and shoulder 2c have two slots 6 and tongues 2d and the flange 2a has recesses 10. The combined case-band and bezel 1 has two radially extending pins 5. The back 2 is inserted into the case-band 1 and angularly rotated in the direction of the arrow 7, Fig. 2; until the tongue 2d meets a pin, not shown, on the case-band and each pin 5 engages the part 4b of the associated spring 4 so that the springs 4 then act axially and compress a packing 8 between the back and the case-band. The winding stem is received by one of the recesses 10. The back has recesses 9 for co-operation with a corresponding tool.
