Abstract

739,216. Electric bells. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Sept. 4, 1953 [Oct. 23, 1952], No. 24547/53. Class 13. [Also in Group XXXIX] The volume of sound of the bell of a telephone subset is alterable by adjustment of a damper acting on the bell dome. A blade 3 hinged to the casing 13 of the subset is urged by a spring 14 into engagement with the dome I and is movable by a lever 12 away from the dome 1. If there are two domes 1 the blade 3 is formed with two arms. In a modification the blade is adjusted by a screw-threaded arrangement actuated by a knob. The lever 12 or knob projects externally of the casing 13 of the subset.
