Abstract
737,832. Container closures. BOWATERS DEVELOPMENT & RESEARCH, Ltd. Aug. 13, 1954 [Sept. 23, 1953], No. 26245/53. Class 125 (3). A container 1 has staples 3 riveted thereto and a lid with a metal reinforcing hoop having a flange 8 and hollow beading 9 interrupted as at 10 to accommodate the staples so that the beading 9 lines up with channels 5 of the staples, a wire 12 being threaded through the bores to fasten the lid to the container. The ends of wire 12 may be twisted together or otherwise sealed or one end may have a terminal 14 fitting over an eyelet 15 punched out of skirt 8, a lead or other seal 17 being applied to a wire 16 passed through the eyelet. Specification 729,601 is referred to.
