Abstract

737,727. Bactericidal tissue paper &c. PERSONAL PRODUCTS CORPORATION. July 10, 1953 [July 11, 1952], No. 19274/53. Class 96. Cationic quaternary ammonium compounds, e.g. as 1 to 3 per cent solutions in water, are sprayed on to moist tissue paper 10, e.g. just after it has been directed on to a large dryer drum 14 of a paper-making machine. The sprays may be atomized by compressed air; they may be in two lines across the machine. Unabsorbed spray may be caught by a hood &c. 17, drained at 19; and suction may be applied to the hood. The compounds, which are bactericidal, may be dimethyl-, alkyl dimethyl-, alkyl aroxyl ethoxy ethyl dimethyl-, or para tertiary ethoxy ethyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride, alkyl methyl pyrrolidium chloride, or alkyl tolyl methyl trimethyl ammonium chloride &c.
