736,867. Enrobing machines. BRINDLE, W. Dec. 31, 1953 [Nov. 10, 1952], No. 28274/52. Class 28 (1). In a chocolate-coating machine, the molten chocolate is lifted from a tank 20 by a pair of driven wheels 21, mounted one on either side of a wire conveyer belt 10, and is delivered to a perforated tray 19 through openings in its front wall so as to fall continuously on to articles 18 which are continuously fed on to the belt 10, excess chocolate passing through the belt to a trough formed with a roller 15 for forcing the chocolate back through the belt 10 on to the undersides of the articles 18. Belt 10 is carried on driven rollers 11 and the wheels 21 and the roller 15 are mounted on shaft 12 journalled in bearings 13. Tray 19 is pivoted so as to be movable out of engagement with wheels 21, by an arm 26, when belt 10 may be cleaned by an air blower 25. Roller 15 and a plate 14 together form the trough. Articles 18 are fed from hoppers 27 by a reciprocating plate 28 and are carried over a plate 34 which detaches odd crumbs. At the end of the belt 10 a roller 36 wipes excess chocolate off the undersides of the articles before they are transferred to cooler belt 37.
