Abstract
736,106. Coffee percolators. GREGORELLI, P. March 15, 1954 [Dec. 20, 1952], No. 32361/52. Class 129. A coffee percolator consists of a kettle-like boiler having a tapered spout over which the infuser is detachably secured, a safety valve, a safety blow-out plug, and either has no separate lid, or has the lid clamped by a bolt. The coffee filter 3 is secured to a tapered sheath 24 which fits over a tapered spout on the boiler 1 and is detachably secured by a bayonet catch. A tube 29 extends from the infuser to the lower part of the boiler. When the safety valve blows, a valve 37 is opened, and hot water under pressure passes through the coffee filter. In a modification, Fig. 5 (not shown), the boiler is in the form of an electric kettle with the lid clamped down.
