A flow control fitting for pipe-lines and the like comprises a body having a clamp section B with a flow passage 41 and a nose 42 telescopically engaging a counterbore 15 in a main body section A having a flow passage 11 and a laterally-opening pocket 13 intersecting the passage 11 and adapted to receive a valvelike plate E which is clamped between a seat 20 and the nose 42 by means of equi-spaced operating members D each having a threaded shank 60 screwed into a part of the body section, a flanged intermediate section 62 arranged for rotational but not axial movement in openended slots or recesses 73 in the clamp section B, and a head section 61. The heads 61 have openings 66 for operation by a tommy-bar or the like. The intermediate sections 62 are of smooth cylindrical contour and each is provided with a thrust collar 63 co-operating with the corresponding head section 61 to restrict axial movement of the operating member D. The plate E has a perforate disc 28 and an imperforate disc 27 joined by a web 29. Either disc may be inserted in the pocket 13. The slots or recesses 73 are U-shaped and are formed in flange-like projections 72 on the clamp section. The uppermost operating member D screws into one of the side walls 23 of the pocket 13 whilst the two lower ones screw into lugs projecting from the body section A. The pocket 13 has a drain plug 34.
