734,671. Regulating liquid levels. GUIETTE, M. G. May 16, 1950 [May 17, 1949], No. 12231/50. Class 123 (1). [Also in Group XXIX] In a siphon arrangement for filling a receptacle (see Group XXIX), device for stopping the siphoning when the liquid level in the receptacle is at a predetermined height comprises a cover 25 for the receptacle 2 through which passes the siphon tube 1 and a casing 27, containing a floating ball, 28 mounted on the cover 25. The casing 27 communicates with the receptacle by a tube 26 which projects into the receptacle to the required level and when the liquid reaches this level it rises in the tube 26 and lifts the ball 28 thereby closing a valve 29 which prevents further egress of air from the receptacle and so stops the siphon input.
