Abstract

733,578. Centrifugal fans. INDUSTRIAL FAN & HEATER CO., Ltd. Oct. 5, 1953 [May 18, 1953], No. 13823/53. Divided out of 733,563. Class 110 (1). A fan impeller has substantially radial blades 3 with end edges secured in radial grooves 6 formed in the face of a hub disc 4 and inner edges secured in longitudinal grooves 7 in-the outer surface of a hub boss 5 ; the blades, disc and boss are of corrosion - resisting plastic, such as polyvinyl chloride, the blades and disc being of sheet material and the boss of extruded material of cylindrical or other uniform crosssection. The blades 3 are joined by a ring 8 of the same material or of steel or other metal coated with the material, and are secured in the grooves 6, 7 and to the ring 8 by welding or adhesive. The boss 5 has a square bore to receive the square shank 10 of a metal driving shaft 11, and is clamped between metal plates 12, 13 by means of a metal bolt 15 and metal washer 14. The exposed metal parts are protected by a tubular spigot 16 forming part of the disc 4 and by an end cap 17 secured to the plate 13 by plastic screws 18.
