733,468. Cycle foot-rests. SOC. D'APPAREILS DE CONTROLE ET D'EQUIPMENT DES MOTEURS S.A.C.E.M. Nov. 30, 1953 [Dec. 10, 1952], No. 33200/53. Class 136(3). In a pedal driven cycle with or without an auxiliary engine comprising a transverse spindle 3 carrying a chain wheel 4 and two crank levers 2 supporting the pedals 5, at least one horizontal support 13 is provided between the crank levers 2 at a level higher than the chain wheel 4, the support extending frontwardly into the vicinity of the front wheel 14 and being shaped to constitute a foot rest for the cyclist. Two supports 13 may be provided each constituted by a metal plate having downwardly bent edges. The support 13 shown is of U-shape cross-section and serves to protect the chain both from the top and from the sides. The cycle frame comprises a single tube 1 carrying a sleeve 6 for the front wheel fork and a sleeve 7 in which the spindle 3 is journalled. The seat pillar 9 and chain stays 8 are secured to the tube 1 by bolts 10, 11.
