732,144. Agitators. CO-OPERATIVE WHOLESALE SOCIETY, Ltd., MORRIS J. A., and ADAMSON, J. R. Dec. 24, 1953 [Dec. 2, 1952], No. 30495/52. Class 78 (1). A packaging machine for soap flakes comprises a hopper 10 disposed above a smoothsurfaced rotating drum 12 which receives material from the hopper and feeds it to an outlet 23 of the machine there being horizontally disposed in the base of the hopper an agitator 31 comprising a rotatable shaft having pairs 32 of diametrically opposed flat radial arms or paddles, the said pairs of arms being disposed at intervals along the shaft and angularly displaced relative to one another around the diameter of the shaft. As shown, the drum is fitted with a gate 17 and with scrapers 15, 25.
