[Also in Group X] A stave covering for wainscots, panels, walls or ceilings comprises partly overlapping staves or rows of staves 1 which have intermediate slits 5 between them and which are assembled by means of flexible transversely mounted nailing bands 2, 3, the edges of which are driven into the back of the staves. Where more than one row of staves is used the staves of one row may be joined to the staves of the adjacent row by longitudinally arranged nailing bands. Short lengths of stave may be used by arranging for the joints 4 to come between two nailing bands.
