Abstract

731,530. Printing-machines. MASCHINENFABRIK WINKLER, FALLERT & CO., AKT.-GES. Aug. 10, 1951 [Aug. 17, 1950], No. 18935/51. Class 100 (2). Inking apparatus.-In a printing press, the roller 5 transferring ink from a ductor roller 2 to an inking roller 7 has elevated parts 9 in the form of closed rings with channels between them, the lateral edges of the rings lying in parallel planes inclined to the roller axis. The parts 9 only of the roller 5 project into the ink layer 1 on the roller 2 which is driven at a slower speed than the other rollers. The latter may be driven frictionally or by a gear train 10, 11, 12. Each ring overlays adjacent rings axially of the roller 5 so that ink is taken up over the whole length of the roller. Specification 548,641 is referred to.
