Abstract

1337236 Printing apparatus MILLER PRINTING MACHINERY CO 18 April 1972 [27 May 1971] 17921/72 Heading B6C A multiple-impression printing press, which can make either superimposed impressions on one side of the paper or print on both sides, is convertible from one method of printing to the other by adjustment of the mechanism which passes sheets from a first printing mechanism 10, 200 to a second printing mechanism 12, 202. A first cylinder, which may be either a transfer cylinder 24 or an impression cylinder 206, releases either the leading or trailing edges of sheets S to grippers on a transfer cylinder 26 or 204, according as its own grippers are released by a cam 104 adjustable angularly about the axis of the cylinder and mounted on a gear segment rotatably mounted on the printing press frame.
