Abstract

730,829. Light reflectors. FLUOREL, Ltd. April 7, 1954 [April 7, 1953], No. 9445/53. Class 75 (2). A reflector of spun aluminium polished on its inner surface and provided with spring tongues 2 for gripping an electric light bulb 4 is stepped in profile and decreases in diameter from one end to the other, the step 6 at the wider end being of curved profile to direct the light into a beam. The step 6 and the adjacent step 7 are of parabolic curvature. The tongues 2 are of heat resisting spring steel and locate the light bulb 4 so as to leave a ventilating gap 5 between the bulb and the narrow end of the reflector. The reflector is spun from a ring of pure aluminium and is polished by mechanical polishing followed by electrolytic polishing.
