Abstract

730,732. Sheet delivery apparatus. FABER & SCHLEICHER AKT.-GES. Feb. 4, 1953 [Feb. 6, 1952], No. 3122/53. Class 100 (1). A sheet delivery device in which the sheets are delivered from a fast moving gripper chain 22 to slower travelling conveying devices, arranged at the same side of the sheet path for transportation to a stack 20 is characterized in that the sheets are conveyed on the slow conveyer by forwardly and backwardly moving grippers 17 which are connected to carriages 6 arranged to travel in guide tracks 7, 8 and to be driven from a chain 1 to which they are connected by links 5. The chain 1 travels at a constant speed, which is slower than the chain 22, over sprocket wheels 2, 3, 4. The path of the tracks 7, 8 deviates from that of the chain so that when a sheet 19 is taken from a gripper 18 on the chain 22 a carriage 6 is being accelerated from a rest position in a change-over switch 9 along the track 7. As the carriage 6 approaches the changeover switch 12 it is slowed down and the sheet is released on to the stack 20. The carriage 6. then enters the switch 12 and remains stationary until the switch is operated by a cam and lever mechanism 13, 14, 15. The carriage 6 is then returned along the guide 8 to the switch 9, also operated at the correct time by a cam and lever mechanism 10, 11.
