Abstract

The mechanism is of the type in which an endless chain conveyor transports each sheet (4) to above the dispensing point (1) where it is released and its forward speed braked by a device (5) which comprises two or more rotary braking rollers (9, 10) arranged at short distance one behind the other in the direction of transport and before the rear edge (6) of the pile of dispensed sheets (1). Pneumatic means are provided to attract each sheet into contact with the braking rollers. For this purpose a suction tube (12) may be provided below the rollers and parallel therewith, the tube having a number of suction bores (17) directed towards the gap (28) between the rollers.
