Abstract
730,281. Side-delivery rakes. BAMFORDS, Ltd. Oct. 6; 1952 [Oct. 13, 1951], No. 23880/51. Class 6 (3). A side-delivery rake, of the kind having rakebars 17 extending obliquely between spiders 15, 16 on a frame 10, is capable of being towed at right angles to its normal direction of travel and has a steerable wheel-assembly 22, 25 to which a drawbar 28 may be attached, for transport. The frame comprises a tubular beam 10 carrying arched tubular members 12, 14 which support a bearing for the rear spider 16 and are mounted at the rear on a castor-wheel assembly 23. The front spider 15 is driven from the tractor through gearing 9 described in Specification 707,436, and the beam 10 is normally supported from the tractor three-point suspension by lugs 38. An additional wheel 29 supports the rear end of the beam 10 during transport and is mounted on a pivoted leg 30 so that it can be swung upwardly into an inoperative position in normal use. The castor wheel 22 is vertically adjustable. Specifications 707,404 and 730,304 also are referred to.
