Abstract

729,284. Cartons; packaging. AKTIEBOLAGET AKERLUND & PAUSING. Oct. 12, 1953 [Oct. 11, 1952], No. 28021/53. Classes 18 and 94 (1). In a tubular carton in which the ends are closed by first folding the closure flaps outwardly and securing a sheet 8 to them to cover the carton mouth, then folding them inwardly with the sheet, the cuts 3 separating the flaps do not extend to the flap hinge crease 2 so that a portion 6 of the material is torn and produces a fibre tuft when the flaps are folded outwardly. This tuft is secured to the sheet 8 and produces a powder-tight corner seal. The flaps may be adhesively secured together or have connections 9, 10 as shown. When they are opened the sheet 8 may be perforated enabling the carton to act as a powder distributer. The carton material may be lined with a wax or other coating.
