A spring wire reinforcement 2 for the borders of a spring assembly has upper and lower abutment portions 19, 18 connected by helical wires 6, 8 to the border wires 5, 7 and laterally outward extending bulging portions 10, 11 formed with convolutions 17, 14 and yieldable under pressure, each bulging portion having two outwardly curved side portions 16, 15, 12, 13 between the abutment portions and the convolutions.
