Abstract

728,460. Permanent waving of hair. VOGT, H. June 4, 1952 [June 4, 1951], No. 14062/52. Class 131. In a method of permanent waving the hair is wound on hollow curlers previously heated to an appropriate temperature. The curlers 1, 2 may be shaped for croquinole, Fig. 1, or spiral winding, Fig. 2, and are provided with rings 5, 6 of heat-insulating material by which they can be held while a lock of hair damped with cold or medium wave setting lotion is coiled, enclosed by a wrapper of waterproof material and secured by a string or spring clip. The walls of the curler are perforated at 4 and the base 3 closed. After removal of the wrapper the wound curl can be treated, while on the curler, with neutralizing solution and rinsing water and then dried.
