Abstract
Phenothiazine is stabilized by incorporating hexamethylene tetramine, e.g. by mixing the solids or by mixing the phenothiazine with a solution of hexamethylene tetramine and evaporating off the solvent. The amount of hexamethylene tetramine incorporated is about 0.3 to 3.0 per cent. Examples are given of (1) mixing the phenothiazine and the hexamethylene tetramine in a ball mill; (2) and (3) mixing the phenothiazine with a solution of hexamethylene tetramine in methanol, filtering and drying.
